All Age School

Efforts to improve the facillities of the Spring Gardens All Age school has been an ongoing project for all chapters. The Canada Chapter however, has over the the years adopted the school as its main focus and has therefore emerged as its leading contributor.

Besides ongoing contributions to the need of students, the chapter has built additional auxilary space and also spearheaded painting of the school building during Reunion '08.

The following are a list of projects completed by the Canadian Chapter:

  • Fixing of windows, roofs, and installment of AC units of the trailer classrooms.
  • Granted office equipment to the community at large by donating cash for the purchase of a photocopier machine situated in the community center.
  • Acknowledged the contributions of the distinguished teacher and mentor, Aunt May Walters by presenting her with a monetary gift and engraved plaque that highlights her renowned status. [On a sidenote, a broad member, Otis Harvey, exercised the presentation all donations to the Spring Village All-Age School and to the community on the chapter's behalf].
  • Acquired material texts from a local Canadian School Board (made possible by Leslie Nixon).

In addiiton to contributions by the Canadian Chapter, the NY chapter have contributed a computer, printer and reading books.

The Florida Chapter also made significant donations of furniture providing each classroom with a teacher's desk, furnished the Principal's office as well as a new staffroom for the teachers.
